Nothing outside of Jesus & his gospel has the power to save, therefore, Jesus and his good news are locked in at the center of everything we do. It's our desire to help students know and apply the good news of Jesus throughout the regular rhythms of life.
Living out your faith in Christ is best experienced in community! No one was created to live the 'lone-ranger' lifestyle, therefore, we want to intentionally encourage, challenge & love one another as we grow in our relationship with Christ.
Everyone who is in Christ is called to live out their life for His purpose, therefore, we want to teach our students to influence their surroundings with the Gospel, knowing that only Jesus has the power to restore our brokenness.
Romans 3:10-18 gives us a clear picture of the effects of sin in our life:
(10) as it is written: "No one is righteous, no, not one; (11) no one understands; no one seeks for God. (12) All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." (13) "Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive." "The venom of asps is under their lips." (14) Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness." (15) Their feet are swift to shed blood; (16) in their paths are ruin and misery, (17) and the way of peace they have not known." (18) "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Romans 6:23 tells us that there are consequences for our sin: "For the wages of sin is death..." Death as in not only a physical death, but an eternal death.
The good news is seen in the remaining part of Romans 6:23, "...but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 10:9 says, "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Because of Jesus' death, burial & resurrection - we place our faith/trust in Him for the payment of our sins.
It's important to recognize that there is no other way, except through Jesus, to enter into a relationship with God. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me."
For those who place their faith in Jesus, the Bible says in Romans 8:1 that, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." This is by far the greatest news ever known to man!
